"The award specifically recognises Argon’s achievements in industrial robotic mining technology, specifically platform level robotics in assay and mineral testing. Since being established in 2004, the initiative has seen the advancement of core technologies, which are paving the way for safer, more productive working environments in Australia. 

The prestigious and comprehensive awards program, established in 2005, engages with leading corporate, government and non-profit organisations across key industry segments, including financial, manufacturing, professional services, energy, telecommunications, construction, transport, healthcare, education, food services and retail.

Entries are assessed using specific criteria via an established set of business and product award categories, benchmarking the full spectrum of organisational performance and product management to identify the industry leaders for each award category and industry classification. The awards raise the bar across all aspects of quality management and provide organisations with ways to review their business performance and identify their core strengths. 

Howard Digby, General Manager of Argon, said the award reflected the substantial investment the organisation had made in product innovation over the last 5 years.

"The robotic FTGA system is a fine example of our core technology at work for a specific business application in the marketplace. FTGA for iron ore testing, is a business with high customer demand but substantial bottlenecks today. The Argon developed FTGA system provides a cost effective means to break through the logjams, reduce dependancies on tight labour markets, and increase safety, reliability and throughput."

Well that was the question we started resonating on... how about if instead of making trillions and managing it effectively, we could cut to the chase.... let's not take a $ from everyone then manage it - what if - instead we could give everyone a tool to make their $ count. 

After all it's not about big noting - it's about driving change.

Even better still, if we could allow them to make their time count. Give them tools to review, compare, manage and track their contributions... if we made it just sooo damn easy.... allowing the people who they help, know who helped, so that recognition and thanks was actually given...

2012 40 under 40 Winner!

A big congratulations goes out to Argon's CEO, Paul Deuchar for his inclusion in WA Business New's "40 under 40" business leaders awards.

Paul was recognised for his pioneering efforts in mining robotics, here in Western Australia. 

"STRIVING to make the impossible possible was at the heart of Paul Deuchar’s decision to found Argon Technology at the age of 24. While studying Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, Mr Deuchar identified the need for a company that could provide robotic engineering services to the soon-to-be booming resource sector.

Based on that idea and a solid vision, Argon Technology was born in 2004 and quickly grew into the largest robotic organisation in the state, with clients that include BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Bluescope Steel.

The company now boasts 12 highly skilled staff, while Mr Deuchar himself has overseen the training of more than 100 engineers, with a commitment to creating a work environment that is both enjoyable and professionally rewarding.

There have been difficulties, however, with Mr Deuchar having tried and failed previously to get the company off the ground, and the navigating the GFC. 

In 2009 Mr Deuchar was recognised as WA’s Young Engineer of the Year for his efforts in developing Argon Technology into a company that is now internationally recognised and accredited.

The business’s success has also allowed Mr Deuchar to give back to the community that has supported him, regularly contributing to a range of charities and encouraging his employees to do the same.

Few can claim to have founded and successfully built their own company from the ground up. Even fewer can claim to have founded an entire industry."

A great wrap on a man who is paving the way for change in our resource based economy.

The West Australian 2011 Rich List

"The Prince is dead long live the Princes"

Exciting times for WA's emerging leaders and future industrialists. Announcement of WA's Rich list included an article on the Young Guns and potential next Princes of Western Australia.

 

Paul Deuchar featured in the article for potential Princes of WA. The article published in The West Australian, on Thursday the 20th of October, 2011 focused on the Young Guns of WA's Rich List, the article starts by pointing to the recent departures of Fertilisers boss Pankaj Oswal, 40, next youngest Sterling Buntine, 43, and then WA's Andrew Forrest, 49, "the only other individual member younger than 50 (until November 19, that is)" 

the article then immediately went on to cover:

"   But there is plenty of emerging talent in the WA business scene that could one day, given the right circumstances, take pride of place in the list of WA's wealth leaders. 

   The 31-year-old engineering graduate Paul Deuchar is gaining attention through his Bibra Lake based Argon mechanical engineering and control systems group with a client list that includes major mining, manufacturing and contracting groups."

Following on to notably mention John Gallop, 33, Andrew Sugiaputra, Bill Meament, 36, and Christian Easterday to name a few.

Western Australia is an impressive state and a historical home to many entrepreneurs both past and present. It is fantastic too see such bright talent afforded the support to see their dreams realised, and true colours shine. 

May tall poppy syndrome die the sudden death it needs in WA. A fantastic time right now for the experience of those successful to be shared with capable youth. Thus enabling the next generation of leaders and industrialists the right commercial environment to foster and cultivate their talents, providing this great state a bright future, full of job opportunities and prosperity.
